How to Load Estimated Hours against Departments when Setting Up Retainer Plans

In order for Insight's Retainer Plan vs. Actual Analysis Report to work optimally, the plan should be split by Department. A quick way of doing this is to add Designation for each Department in the Retainer Plan Details.This allows for the charts on the Report to properly represent the data.

  1. Navigate to Setup -> Employees, Designations tab
  2. Add a Designation with the same name as the relevant Department and link them.

  3. Navigate to Setup -> Retainers, Retainers tab
  4. Select the Retainer on the left
  5. Click on 'Setup Resource Rate Card...' on the right
  6. Click on Action -> Add Resource

  7. Filter the list by Designation.

  8. Select and add the newly created Designations and fill in the Hrs. p.m.

This allows for Report features to group data by Department.

Alternatively, you can assign a single representative Designation for each Department. For instance, assign a Strategic Director to Strategy.
